Beltane Full Moon Ritual - What’s Rising Is Ready to Move

Updated: 1 day ago

There’s something about this Scorpio Full Moon that doesn’t let you stay on the surface.

You might feel it as a quiet intensity, or a restlessness you can’t quite explain, or emotions rising… without asking for permission.

This isn’t the kind of moon that gently whispers.

It pulls things up.

This year, meet me in a simple, yet powerful moment that you carve out for yourself to ground, feel and let go — a Beltane full moon ritual, where release and aliveness exist side by side.

A Full Moon of Blooming… and Depth

!st May brings with it the Flower Moon — named for the time of year when everything is blooming, alive, expanding.

But this year, it’s held in Scorpio.

Which means:

while everything around you is opening…something within you is asking to go deeper.

To feel what’s been sitting underneath.

To face what’s been quietly building.

To stop pretending it’s not there.

Not in a dramatic, overwhelming way.

But in an honest one.

What’s rising right now

This moon isn’t here to give you more clarity in your mind.

It’s here to bring awareness into your body.

You might notice:

– emotions surfacing out of nowhere

– tension in your chest, your belly, your jaw

– old patterns showing up again (I feel ya!)

– a pull to either shut down… or finally express

And if you’re thinking: “Wait, I thought I already worked through this?”

Sorry to be a party pooper, but yes. You probably did.

And now there’s another layer ready to move.

What you’re ready to release… is also what makes space for something new to bloom.

Beltane — the other side of this energy

This Full Moon lands on 1st May, right around Beltane, making it an extra powerful time to perform a Beltane full moon ritual.

This is a time traditionally connected to:

– life force

– sensuality

– desire

– creation

Which means this isn’t just about release.

It’s about making space for something more alive, more aligned.

Because here’s the truth:

you can’t fully open if you're holding on to something outdated inside you.

This is not about fixing

There’s a tendency, especially when things feel intense, to try and:

– understand it

– analyze it

– solve it

I teach embodiment, but to this day I'm still guilty of falling into such traps regularly!

But this moon doesn’t respond well to control.

It responds to:

feeling

allowing

witnessing

moving

You don’t need to figure it out in your mind.

You need to let it move through you.

A Beltane Full Moon Ritual to Release and Return to Yourself

Nothing complicated, nothing fancy and something your mind will likely struggle with... "It's too simple to work," you might hear echoing through it.

But trust me. Once you get this ritual down, it might just become your favourite tool for grounding and embodiment. After years of personal embodiment practice, I call this ritual the basics. The foundation on which everything stands. I've been meeting myself - mess, glory and all - in this ritual for years.

1. Set the space

Dim the lights.

Light a candle if you have one.

Put on music if that helps you drop in.

Don't overcomplicate it.

Just enjoy it and make it intentional.

2. Come into your body

Close your eyes.

Notice your breath.

Notice where your body feels tight, heavy, or alive and light.

Don’t change anything.

Just feel.

3. Let it move

Instead of thinking about what you’re feeling…

let your body express it.

Again, it's so easy to overthink this. Just keep shifting your focus from your thoughts to your physical sensations.

Wait to see what wants to be expressed. Let it step forward and take the lead.

You are not doing anything. Let your body take control.

You might:

– sway

– stretch

– shake

– stay completely still

There is no right way, no certain way how this should look like.

Let your body lead. It may feel silly and pointless at first, but remember, you're laying the groundwork here!

4. Release

When something feels ready to move…

let it.

This might look like:

– a sigh

– tears

– a deep breath

– a sudden stillness

Trust it.

5. Close gently

Place a hand on your body.

Notice what feels different.

What moved, what stayed the same?

Even if it’s subtle.

That’s enough.

To integrate further, journal your observations in your diary.

A quiet reminder

You don’t need to force transformation.

You don’t need to “go deep” just because it’s a Scorpio moon.

Even the simplest Beltane full moon ritual can be enough when it’s done with presence.

But if something is asking to be felt…

this is a powerful moment to listen.

If you want support

This is exactly the kind of energy I create rituals for.

If you feel called, you can explore my Cyclical Rituals — guided practices to help you release, regulate, and reconnect with your body.

Or simply take this moment as it is.

A pause. A breath. A return.

You don’t need to become someone new.

But it's so nice when you can feel just a little more like… yourself. :)
